Making camping a cinch, Baby Sherpa's new baby diaper bag
backpack: "The Short Haul" and "The Long Haul" are both a great idea.
It actually has a built in cooler in it for lunch and bottles ~ and I
don't mean cooler like most back pack diaper bags that are water proof
inside, this is an actual cooler - Add Ice and go! There are a ton of
pockets on this thing. So many pockets I can't remember where I put anything
half the time. There are hooks all over the bag to hang toys, keys and
anything that you may need in plain sight if you are like me and can't
remember where in the "bag" you put it! This back pack diaper bag is great
for Mommies and brilliant for Daddies. When it arrived in the mail Daddy
Nose immediately claimed it as his own. That's a good sign because it's
another diaper bag backpack Mommy Nose won't have to haul all over the
place today! If you are going to use a Maya Wrap style carrier for your
baby - in fact if you are using almost any baby carrier at all, then this
Sherpa diaper bag Backpack is the way to go all of the time. It will help
to distribute your weight evenly between your front and back and it will
save you a huge back ache in the long run. The messenger bags really don't
work well when you are carrying your baby all over the place. They are
better for stroller outings. Trust me on this one, Mommy Nose!

- Baby Sherpa Diaper Bag Backpack I tested Baby Sherpa diaper backpacks
on an international trip with four adults and four children in our party.
By the end of the trip, whoever was carrying the Baby Sherpa backpacks was
the one carrying everyone's gear, because none of the other travel bags
we brought seemed to hold as much while still being comfortable for the
wearer. After 3 weeks of travel in two countries, on 7 different flights,
the Baby Sherpa bags still look brand new, despite having been shoved under
van seats, being shuffled on dusty boats, and being crammed full of every
baby item you can imagine. The durability of these back pack diaper bags
is amazing, to say the least. For about $90, the original Baby Sherpa diaper
bag backpack has a roomy top pocket with an extra-wide opening and two dividers,
an accessory zipper pocket, removable water bottle holder, key clips, front
bungee cord, cooler compartment, removable insulated bottle pocket, oversized
changing pad, lug handle and ergonomic shoulder and sternum straps. For
$85, the Short Haul Sherpa diaper backpack is about 3/4 the size of the
original bag, and has nearly all of the same features on a slightly smaller
scale. Instead of a bungee on the front, the Short Haul has a clip that
can hold a rolled blanket or light coat. Both diaper backpacks are comfortable
to carry and roomy enough for gear for at least one baby. The original Baby
Sherpa has enough room for the whole family's travel must-haves, and will
be useful beyond the baby stage, too.

Baby Sherpa Short Haul Diaper Bag Backpack (BabySherpa) A couple of years
ago we reviewed the regular Baby Sherpa (see review below) we loved it so
much that when Baby Sherpa came out with the Short Haul Diaper Backpack
we asked if we could review it too. The short haul is great for those little
trips with the kids. It still has a deep inside pocket, an insulated pocket
that holds bottles, a outside pocket for water bottles, reflective tape
for safety and more. It's a great backpack that's functional, durable and
comfortable. The best part is that the new dads don't feel like they're
hauling around their wife's diaper bag.
2005 - Short Haul comments from the iParenting media Reviewers
The heavy padding on the back of the pack and on the straps
offered exceptional comfort for the individual carrying the backpack. The
multiple pockets and detachable side compartments offered a nice variety
of available storage spaces.

I just loved it and wish I had one when my kids were even
younger. At the age they are now we use it for drinks and food to the park
and to the mall. I really think that anyone at any age could use it, minus
the changing pad of course. But you could use to set your food onto the
ground if you are having a picnic.

“As a recent parent-my little boy is now almost 5 months,
-the stuff you have to carry around with you defies logic, so the new Baby

urban jungle as the Himalayas.”

“This is the ultimate travel bag for busy parents. The bottom of the pack
is an insulated cooler. I was able to fit 3 bottles, food for me and my
husband and medicine for my baby.”

“..it's the Baby Sherpa Diaper Bag Backpack that proves parenthood
is not just a job, but an adventure. With a lifetime guarantee, well-placed
pouches and pockets, reflective tape, heavy-duty handles, bungee X cords
and ergonomic shoulder straps, Father & Child are ready for almost anything.”
Robert Cribb, Toronto Star Sept 04
The Baby Sherpa has been all the talk around diaper change
tables these days. Sherpa's advantages are meaningful. It reduces as many
as three bags into one. And it makes the almost unfathomable list of baby
travel necessities a bit more manageable. And that's no small feat.
Dallas Forth Worth Star Telegram - 23/09/03
"Baby Sherpa, a diaper backpack that was designed with both
organization and ergonomics in mind. Our favorite things about the Sherpa:
a diaper-changing pad, a padded pocket for camera or breast pump, a soft-side
cooler compartment and the fact that the whole thing qualifies as a carry-on
at the airport."
Celebrity Café - September 2003
"Baby Sherpa has thought about everything you would possibly
need to carry with you for your baby and has made sure there is a spot for
it in this backpack. It is a cooler, a diaper bag, a video bag and a personal
bag all in one. The video pouch is padded and floats in the bag so nothing
should slam into that new expensive camcorder. The bag is very sturdy and
is great for your back, because it has a padded waist, sternum and shoulder
strap. It fits as carry on luggage for airlines and I can definitely see
an active parent using this bag since you don't have to carry more than
one. I personally like backpacks because they free both your hands, you
don't have to worry about straps slipping off your shoulders while you are
carrying your child or anything else for that matter. I can also see a parent
using this bag for a simple trip to the mall. The backpack is easy to clean
and water resistant and comes with a lifetime warranty. The instructions
for the bag are very detailed and the company even provides tips on how
to get the most out of their product."

I don't usually do this, but I had to write to tell you what an amazing
experience I had with my Short Haul Sherpa. I purchased it just after having
my second baby, when I realized that even the smallest excursion with a
baby and a still-in-diapers toddler required quite a bit of equipment. I'd
also heard a lot about your products and was anxious to put them to the
test. However, being a suburbanite, no trip ever seemed to require hauling
out the Sherpa. Well, last week, the perfect opportunity finally presented
itself: we went away on vacation and visited one of Florida's state parks.
I pulled out my Sherpa and put it to the test, packing it with everything
I thought we might be even remotely likely to need during a half-day excursion.
As we set out, the Sherpa contained the requisite diapers and wipes, plus
extra food for everyone (that included a sippy cup for each of the kids,
as well as formula, baby food, and three types of snacks: baby-friendly,
toddler-friendly, and adult-friendly). I also carried a change of clothes
for myself and the toddler, and two extra outfits for the baby. I had hats
and sunglasses for everyone. I carried tissues, lotion, sunblock, bug repellent,
an antihistamine stick, an extra pacifier, and several baby toys. Using
the carabiner clip and and d-rings, I was also able to attach some extra
baby toys and my hip carrier and keep my keys at hand. Please keep in mind
that I am talking about your short-haul Sherpa! For me, this bag more than
lived up to all its billing. I am enclosing a picture so you can see that
my husband was so comfortable carrying it that he forgot to take it off
for pictures! Thank you for a such a well-designed product. It was just
what this family needed!

A day at Disneyland wouldn't be possible without my Baby Sherpa Short Haul.
It just works so well- the cooler for snacks, the bottle holders for water

I ordered the Baby Sherpa and had it rushed to me prior to our trip to Puerto
Rico with our 16 month old son. I wanted to thank you so much for developing
such a wonderful bag for parents like us. You can tell it was designed by
a parent. We loved all the compartments and how travel friendly the bag
is. WE WILL TAKE THE BAG WITH US EVERYTIME WE TRAVEL AND WILL RECOMMEND
TO ALL OUR FRIENDS WITH CHILDREN!

We love our Baby Sherpa backpack! We take it everywhere and it holds everything!
Because parents end up bringing everything they could possibly need (and
even the stuff you probably don't need), the bag can get heavy, but with
the padded straps and the belts that are attached to it, your back doesn't
end up hurting at the end of the day. The thermal lined pockets are great
and easy to clean. We love it! I have been asked by all my mom-to-be friends
where to get our backpack and I am glad to tell them!!
Bryan and Kelly Miller, West Sacramento, California
I love it! I agree with others that it might be too big especially when
I watch my wife try to carry it, but we bought it with the intention that
I would carry it. I think the size of the compartments are fine. The side
pouches (mesh & insulated) carriers sag down a little too much, but
nothing to cry over. Our daughter is almost 3 months now so the bag might
be overkill, but I know it will prove handier when she's older. It's perfect
for those longer trips, but if you're running to the market or a few hours
at the mall, then you might want something smaller. Personally, I wanted
to be completely prepared for whatever happened, so I chose this bag. Expecting
the worst, but hoping for the best is what I believe in!

Dear Baby Sherpa,
I am writing to you not from Italy but from Caracas. I arrived this past
Sat. with both girls after a very stressfull trip, but I could not wait
any longer to tell you how the diaper bag "literally saved me".
We had 2 flights, one at 6:50am and the other at 10am from Rome. To make
along story short, Gaia ( the smallest one) was with fever, a cold and all
she wanted was to be in my arms. Between that, Alessia, the jackets and
the carry on trolley, I was going crazy. Also because the flight that departed
Rome was sent back after 1 hour and a half after it was flying. Technical
problems. That meant another hour and a half waiting inside the plane and
then they realized that there were some problems with the wheels. That meant
that we had to change planes...It was pretty stressfull. What I wanted to
let you know was that the diaper bag is WONDERFUL !! I had no idea how much
could be put into it. I filled the part for drinks with juices, fruits,
yogurts, chips, water, sandwiches and two empty bottles. I knew exactly
what I had and where it was. IT hardly weighed even thought it was packed.
The part where the diaper changing pad goes I put in some diapers and some
wipes to have handy at any moment.
Baby Sherpa...what can I say...I guess you don't believe how truly great
this bag can be until you actually use it. Now that I have tried it and
will be using it over and over, maybe I will be able to present it to other
mothers with a different point of view and with the best testimonial....MINE
!!
Thanks again...All the best,
Martina, Italy
The Baby Sherpa diaper bag is fabulous. It is so functional, sturdy, and
comfortable to wear. I love that it's just a rugged, black back-pack style.
After all, where on earth does it state that as soon you become a parent,
you have to give up your great sense of style for quilted pink teddy bear
prints?
This is a bag that will be used in our family long after our children have
outgrown diapers.
Deedra LL, Nova Scotia
I love it!!! I love all the pockets all over, inside and out. Everything
now has its place. The shoulder straps are very comfortable and don't slip
off my shoulder if I just sling it over one shoulder . I love the bottle
holder on the side so you don't have to go searching for the bottle at the
bottom of the bag. The bungee cord on the front is great, ingenious. Removable
key ring, great. Diaper pad wonderful and soft. Two sided zippered opening
on top. Excellent.
Kristine D., Montreal, Quebec
"This is the only bag/backpack on the market which actually lives up to
what it claims. It holds all my gear for outings with my 7, 5 and 3 year
old. Absolutely the best bag/backpack for a family on the go!"
Tanya S., Winnipeg, Manitoba
As a single Dad, I'm happy to carry the load with Baby Sherpa. It's a practical,
tough backpack that also fits the bill as an airplane carry-on. I never
leave home without it.
Murray B., Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
“As new parents, my wife and I used a traditional diaper bag but found it
more trouble than useful. Not enough room, no pockets or compartments, cheap
material, hard to carry and too “girlish” for me to carry as a dad. I searched
the web and found the Baby Sherpa. It is exactly what I wanted and needed.
It has pockets galore, padded back and shoulder straps so I can wear it
all day which leaves my hands free. The Sherpa is well thought out and every
inch of space is useful and versatile. It's the only bag we use now. My
wife and I couldn't be more pleased with the Baby Sherpa.”
Jason P., Texas
"My daddy says my Baby Sherpa is built better than any of his other daypacks.
We never leave home without it."
